Liverpool City Council identified the provision of a ‘people leader’ to manage large infrastructure teams and to deliver Business Improvement initiatives to improve Council’s Infrastructure Planning & Delivery function. The Manager Infrastructure Planning & Delivery role is a senior position within Liverpool City Council. The role required excellent people management skills, exceptional stakeholder management skills and relationship building skills, to lead a large infrastructure workforce.
Services Delivered
- Led, mentor and support staff for planning and delivery of infrastructure programs.
- Led the development and piloting of Council’s Project Management Framework.
- Led the development of Council’s long-term Infrastructure priority works program valued over $500 million and land acquisition strategy, to unlocking land for housing.
- Led the development of resource Management plan for Infrastructure Teams.

Project Outline
Brisbane City Council identified the need for a sports complex in Mt Gravatt, a southside suburb of Brisbane. The project was to include indoor and outdoor swimming pools (3), a centre for indoor multi-purpose courts for netball, basketball, volleyball and futsal, gym and other sporting facilities. This role required significant project leadership for the management of the planning, design and delivery of a major sporting facility.
Services Delivered
- Led the design and construction teams to plan and deliver priority infrastructure works; due to new housing developments and growth within the LGA.
- Project was delivered within Council’s Project Management Framework and achieved compliance to local government legislative requirements.
- Project was delivered on-time and within budget.
