Project Outline
A multi storey secondary education development that included primarily new build, with some light and heavy refurbishment and landscaping that was delivered in 24 months, across two sites.

This development entailed the amalgamation of three schools:

  • Ballina High School
  • Southern Cross High School
  • Regions Amalgamated Distance Education Schools, combining Ballina, Byron and Casino
  • Converting and refurbishing old SCHS to new Southern Cross Primary School

Services Delivered
Provided comprehensive project management services to manage the entire project life cycle, ensured the procurement and delivery model supported an appropriate stakeholder engagement strategy and including the management of key risks.

The project was delivered on time, on budget, exceeding client and community expectations, including successful management of the large educational stakeholder group using effective communications and risk management strategies. This approach resulted in successful management of the infrastructure works, including scope, program, cost and quality across a 24-month period.

Project Outline
The Secondary Schools Renewal Program (SSRP) identified 58 schools within the program, that focused on how NSW high schools presented to their local communities. The aim of the program was to improve the physical environment and aesthetics of the schools for their local community, by making facades and entrances more attractive and to improve wayfinding and increase the visibility of education to the community.

Services Delivered
Provided comprehensive program management services to manage all stages of the works from design through programming, authority approval, management of construction and commissioning.

A key deliverable included Post Occupancy Evaluation & Construction Review to capture the lessons learnt and areas for improvement that have been identified through the process of delivering the SSRP projects.

It involved the resolution of operational risks and delivery issues, defects, variations, process compliance, documentation, and certification issues, including resolving outstanding contractual matters.

Project Outline
The Department of Education had committed 20 major capital works projects to the Minister’s office, as part of its commitment to meet the needs of the school communities across NSW for Day 1 Term 1, 2020. A Day 1 Term 1 Taskforce was established to ensure that the Department met its ministerial commitments for 2020.
